Hi Terence,
Thanks for your reply and it sounds great that you are the administrator of our webpage in http://jabonga.multiply.com. Actually, I am not working yet in Canada because it's not easy here to find a job especially I am a hairstylist in the Philippines. I can't work here as a hairstylist if I can't pass the written exam.and aside from that I need to get the recommendation from my old employers in Butuan City that prove that I have the capacity of this profession. Aside from that, I need to work also as an apprenticeship here for about 10 months before I will be given a Certificate as a Hairstylist in the province of
Ontario, Canada especially if my current employer here in Canada to whom I am working with as an apprenticeship can give a recommendation that I have a good performance, that's the time that I can work in the salon and then the Ministry of Trade, Colleges and Universities will give me a license or permit to work as a hairstylist. At present I am volunteering here at the Extendicare Retirement & Nursing Home in the town of Lindsay, Ontario as a PSW or Personal Support Worker and I really enjoyed working with the seniors. I am also volunteering at the John Howard Society, I am teaching to the Outreach Literacy Program as a tutor and I am teaching how to read and write and also a fundamental mathematic. Most of the adult learners there are canadian-indians or the native people here as what they call them here in Canada. The reason why I am volunteering here even if I am not get paid, but at least I have already a reference if I will apply for a job. I can easily work here in Canada if I am not picky when it comes to your job, just like in cleaning the house, baby-siting, doing the laundry but my husband doesn't want me to work in cleaning the house, because the rate for the house cleaner or the home maker is just like a slave according to my husband. He said to me, I need to work in a decent place and not as a maid.
Ok, next time I will post some pics in this website so that my friends in Jabonga and my relatives can see it. As of now, it's still snowy here in Canada, I really don't like the snow here just like tonight we will be having a snow storm and the snow will be expected to be 10 inches from the ground. I really feel very cold here not unless if the heater is on and if I can use an electric pad, I will be warm then. The pics that I put in my profile is located at Kirkfield and it's county. You can see the frozen leaves.
Just curious, do you know about Nong Edmund Serrano? he is living in the part of Laguna. If you can meet him, please say HI to him from me. If I can post our pics here in Canada, please show it to him. Please say HI to your family there in Manila especially to the people in Jabonga. Take care and talk to you soon. If you wish to chat with me, here's my yahoo id filipinacanadian38@yahoo.com
Hope to hear from you soon. Bye for now.
